POSITION TITLE: Career Information Specialist
DEPARTMENT: Career Development Center

GRADE: 5
BASIC FUNCTION:
Coordinates the overall functions of the Career Development Center under the direction of the Career Development
RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Maintains and provides basic information regarding Cooperative Education (Co-Op) and Experiential Learning (ELP) records and materials.
·Administers and prepares Career Exploration testing materials, folders, and maintains records and payment slips.
·Serves as a liaison between employees and students and the community-at-large receiving job leads via Fax, mail, telephone; posting and updating job leads electronically and/or Career Center information boards.
·Coordinates on-campus recruiting activities by employer.
·Assists clients with career/job/college searches as appropriate to their needs.
·Conducts center presentations as requested by academic instructors.
·Provides resume assistance for those interested in creating and updating their resume.
·Trains and supervises student assistants to provide the support necessary for the overall operation of the Center.
·Assists
with the ordering of Career Center materials, college catalogs, office supplies, etc., as requested
by the Career Center Supervisor.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Associate's Degree. Bachelor's degree preferred,
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Three (3) years experience.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent communication skills. Computer knowledge and proficiency required. Ability to interact with students, faculty, and members of the community. Solid organizational skills needed to oversee departmental responsibilities.
