BSC1005L
Course description and overview
Description:The course will involve doing weekly laboratories and
activities, mostly at home. The laboratories include both online and hands-on
types of laboratories. A laboratory materials packet, available free at the
college bookstores, and other materials bought at local stores (Click
here to see list of required lab materials) will be used for hands-on
work.
You will need to do some planning and executing of simple demonstrations
and experiments and then produce a lab report, using the college's colleges
course management software (WEBCT), via your web browser software and internet
service provider. Discussion of lab results and conclusions, on the WEBCT bulletin
board, will also be required and graded. After you are done with all the questions
you will probably need to do further work which will need to be FAXed to the instructor.
Note:These laboratories
cannot be done in a single sitting. Past student surveys indicate
that the course requires an average 5-6 hours per week. This course will
be a good way to take a course if you are good at following
directions and making deadlines.
