BASIC FUNCTION:
Assists students in an
instructional laboratory including tutoring students, maintaining and utilizing
laboratory equipment and materials.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
v
Assists
professional teaching faculty in the operation of a teaching laboratory.
v
Provides
students with programs, materials and instruction under the direction of the
professional faculty member.
v
Coordinates
the use of laboratory equipment and supplies. Maintains equipment.
v
Serves
as resource person to students in their assignments.
v
Keeps
records of student attendance, progress and mastery of skills.
v
Provides
classroom instructors with information concerning student progress.
v
Performs
related duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL
REQUIREMENTS:
Completion of one (1) year
of college.
EXPERIENCE
REQUIREMENTS:
Two (2) years experience in
the use of the laboratory equipment in the discipline of assignment. Competence
in the subject area assigned.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of the subject
area assigned. Knowledge of the methods appropriate for instruction in the
subject area. Knowledge of sentence structure. Ability to operate a computer.
Communications skills. Ability to work well with faculty and students.
