BASIC FUNCTION:
Performs responsible and
advanced work in the processing of college payrolls.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
v
Processes
college payrolls and payroll certifications.
v
Performs
data input for payroll changes and enters data for new employees.
v
Maintains
employee sick leave and vacation records for all college sites.
v
Maintains
computerized personnel files related to payroll accounts.
v
Performs
clerical and data entry work in maintaining records and reports. Responsible
for maintaining files of payroll records.
v
Performs
distribution of payroll certifications. Maintains certification books for all
payrolls. Distributes payroll reports.
v
Types
or keyboards reports and other statistical information.
v
Performs
related duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL
REQUIREMENTS:
Graduation from an accredited
high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma, supplemented by
college level courses in accounting or bookkeeping.
EXPERIENCE
REQUIREMENTS:
Four (4) years of
responsible experience as a bookkeeper or in accounting, or an equivalent
combination of education and/or experience.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of payroll
accounting practices and procedures. Knowledge of sentence structure. Knowledge
of word usage. Skill in reading comprehension. Knowledge of mathematics and
basic accounting. Ability to keyboard at a prescribed rate of speed and
accuracy. Ability to operate a calculator. Ability to operate data entry
equipment. Communications skills. Ability to deal with faculty and staff.
