BASIC FUNCTION:
Procures and maintains
stock of specialized items utilized in the natural science department
facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
v
Performs
maintenance of equipment and apparatus used in the science department.
v
Coordinates
with science instructors relative to ordering, receiving and inventory
materials.
v
Constructs,
repairs and installs equipment and laboratory furnishings in science department
facilities.
v
Maintains
inventory of chemicals, glassware, etc.
v
Sets
up audiovisual equipment when required.
v
Moves
stock and maintains keys for science lockers.
v
Performs
related duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL
REQUIREMENTS:
Associate's degree in
Science or related field.
EXPERIENCE
REQUIREMENTS:
One (1) year experience in
inventory control and maintenance activities.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of scientific
terminology. Knowledge of audiovisual equipment. Knowledge of laboratory
equipment. Carpentry or related maintenance skill. Skill in basic reading
comprehension. Knowledge of basic mathematics. Computer skills. Ability to work
well with people. Communications skills.
