POSITION DESCRIPTION

BASIC FUNCTION:
Performs responsible and
advanced work in the maintenance of complex accounting records and reports.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
v
Maintains
budget, processes contracts, invoices clients and performs accounts receivable
tasks for Open Campus and Corporate Training Services.
v
Responsible
for the purchasing of specific supplies for the department.
v
Coordinates
personnel data for employees, adjunct instructors and outside contractors.
Processes payrolls for the assigned departments or programs.
v
Maintains
budget records for assigned accounts.
v
Processes
contracts for conferences, workshops and programs.
v
Processes
and maintains computerized billing records, budgets, personnel files and
statistics for the area of assignment.
v
Distributes
statistical information, budget, status reports, data and outstanding
encumbrances to budget supervisors.
v
Types
financial reports and other statistical information. Prepares accounting
reports.
v
Performs
related duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL
REQUIREMENTS:
Graduation from an
accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma,
supplemented by college level courses in accounting. Associate's degree is
preferred.
EXPERIENCE
REQUIREMENTS:
Three (3) years of
responsible experience as a bookkeeper or in accounting, or an equivalent
combination of education and/or experience.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of accounting
practices and procedures. Knowledge of sentence structure. Knowledge of word
usage. Skill in reading comprehension. Knowledge of mathematics and basic
accounting. Ability to keyboard at a prescribed rate of speed and accuracy.
Ability to operate a calculator. Ability to operate data entry equipment.
Communications skills. Ability to deal with the public.
